LOONATARAXIS erinnern an die Zeiten in denen Crossover noch nicht New Metal war und in seiner Bedeutung noch für eine „open-mind“-Attitüde stand. Dennoch gestalten LOONATARAXIS den Crossover neu: Schneller, experimentierfreudiger, kompromissloser: Eben New School. Nach dem Debutalbum „This boy is a crying shame“ kommt im Herbst 2011 nun der Nachfolger „UP HERE“.

Dieses mal holte man sich für die Produktion FABIO TRENTINI (u.a. H-Blockx; Guano Apes; The Intersphere) als Co-Producer mit ins Boot. Auch die Band SCHANDMAUL stand wieder einmal in mehrfacher Hinsicht unterstützend zur Seite. „UP HERE“  ist ein straff geschnürtes Paket Energie und Emotion. Die Band nahm sich hierfür wieder einiges an Zeit und Muse um dem eigenen perfektionistischen Anspruch gerecht zu werden. Über ein Jahr wurde am Material gefeilt und gearbeitet, bis es dann soweit war. „UP HERE“ ist Abrechnung, Statement, Selbstemanzipation und pure Wut zugleich.

Sänger Till Herence durchleuchtet lyrisch die dunkelsten Seiten der Seele und die einer ganzen Gesellschaft.Thematisch aufgegriffen werden hier unter anderem sowohl die Scheinheiligkeit einer „Gutmensch“-Generation als auch die Unfähigkeit, in einer multimedialen Welt, Emotionen noch echt und tiefgreifend zu empfinden. Eine Auseinandersetzung mit der eigenen Psyche und der einer Generation.

Musikalisch würde man mit Metal eine viel zu kleine Schublade wählen um dieses immer wieder hakenschlagende Werk zu beschreiben. Verantwortlich für den direkten und kompromisslosen Sound waren diesmal GERHARD WÖLFLE (u.a. Paradise Lost; Guano Apes; Bananafishbones) und kein geringerer als ERDEM ENGIN, Mixing Engineer und Drummer der Müncher Rockband TANERTILL. Gemastert wurde die Scheibe anschließend in den 4Ohm Studios von KLAUS SCHEUERMANN (u.a. Emil Bulls).

„UP HERE“ ist auch Beleg für die „Do-it-yourself-Attitüde“ der Band. Ein Mittelfinger an eine bankrotte, visions- und fantasielose nationale Musikindustrie. Nach mittlerweile über 200 Liveshows im gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum sind LOONATARAXIS zu einer explosiven Einheit mit ungeheurer Sprengkraft gewachsen. Getreu dem hoch gesteckten Anspruch „Nach uns kommt nix mehr!“ liefert das Quartett eine Hochleistungsperformance, die den Leuten im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes ins Gesicht springt. Wer also auf kraftvollen und modernen Crossover steht, kann sich freuen, dass mit LOONATARAXIS eine Band in den Startlöchern steht, die gute Songs liefert, bei der es live kracht und die in allen Bereichen Vollgas gibt.

This time, the four guys‘ ambitious work was supported by co-producer FABIO TRENTINI (H-Blockx; Guano Apes; The Intersphere) and once again the successful Munich based folk-rock band SCHANDMAUL was supportive in many ways.

„UP HERE“is a tightly laced package of energy and emotion. The band invested a lot of time, blood, sweat and tears in order to meet their own perfectionist demands. Over one year, the band had been working on and fine-tuning the new material until it was done. „UP HERE“ is reckoning, statement, self-emancipation and expression of pure anger, all at once. Vocalist Till Herence lyrically illuminates the darkest sides of a soul and a whole society.

Thematically Herence dwells upon the hypocrisy of a „do-gooder“-generation as well as the incapacity to any longer experience real and profound emotions in a multimedia world. „Up Here“ stands for an involvement with both the own psyche as well as that of a whole generation. Musically, „metal“ would by far be too narrow a niche for this ever twisting and turning work. The names behind the straight and umcompromising sound of „UP HERE“ are GERHARD WÖLFLE (Paradise Lost; Guano Apes; Bananafishbones) and no less a figure than ERDEM ENGIN, mixing engineer and drummer of the Munich based rock-band TANERTILL. In the mastering stage, KLAUS SCHEUERMANN (Emil Bulls) of 4ohm studios gave the record its finishing touch. „UP HERE“ is also a testimony for the band‘s „Do-it-yourself“ attitude, the middle-finger to a bankrupt, unvisionary and uncreative national music-industry.

More than 200 live shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have turned Loonataraxis into a very explosive unit. True to their devil-may-care attitude, their performances are powerful and literally in-your-face.
